Please help Master #15 problems

Postby herroldj » 2 Mar 2008 21:58

Ok I have been able to pick every dead bolt and door knob I have tried, but can't for the life of me get the master 15. I know it has 5 pins, no security pins. I have tried feather tension and increased from their. I can't get more than 3 pins to set, and I don't have a key to test the lock. What should I try next, or is this a common problem

This is an old one and I can't seem to get the 3rd pin to move period. I found it under my lawn mower when I was out working one day.

If it's a little old a crusty you might want to throw some lube in there, gun oil, not KY.

Do you have a key for it? If so, cheat and look at the key, and try lifting the pins to duplicate the key. This is easier if, as you say, you can get some of the pins to set, so you can look for comparative heights. I.E. if you know that #3 sets about halfway up, and looking at the key, you can see that #5 is the same cut, try to position it the same.

spray some lube in the lock and let it run out as to remove all the junk from the inside, then as with most master locks, spp it or just use a snake rake and it should open just like you have the key
