Question about doorknob

Postby cageydragon » 1 Jun 2004 19:05

I made a set of my own picks out of hacksaw blades and they work great but I've only successfully picked 1 padlock and when I tried my bedroom door I could get all the pins up but still couldn't get it open. When I slowly let go of the tensioner I can clearly hear the 6 clicks of the pins falling back down into place. I'm sure the lock has 6 pins by looking at the key. I've tried the same thing on other locks but I can't get them to open after getting all of the pins up. Anything I'm missing?

Providing a little information on the lock would help. :) Could be there are security pins inside it. The information given is a little vague :(

I finally got it, i was applying way too much pressure to the tension wrench. It opened easily when I lightened up the pressure.

Thats normally the trick, i like to vary my tension and the lock normally clicks with little tension... It veries from lock to lock and i also believe that the whole manufacturing process and overall quality of the lock internals make a big difference...
