Brinks Shrouded

Any tips for picking the Brinks Shrouded?I can't even get it into a false set,and believe me I tried for a good minute with a rigid tension wrench at the top of the keyway and nada

Is it the 6-pin shrouded one? Basically a copy of an American padlock?

There was quite the discussion on them here a while ago as a good $10 padlock, and the only one I've worked on had spool and serratted pins ala American. And also a stiff shackle spring. So...you may want to cheat and try to pick it based on looking at the key to get a feel for tension and what the various pins feel like at the shearline

Yes it's a six pin.This one came in a carton versus the usual blister pack.Maybe it's a newer model and the machining has improved.

I've bought both and I can't tell any difference between them.

the brinks shrouded will respond to light picking, not heavy from my experience with just one of these. I haven't seen a lot of them come my way.
