Grandfather passed away recently (no need to send your condolences). He lived in the same city housing complex in Queens for something like 60-70 years. The man never threw away anything, and a box of old locks, and lock tools were found amongst his things after his death. Some of the old locks I thought were interesting are pictured below. There is also a rather interesting tool, that was most definitely made by by hand. There are hammer marks on it, and scorch-marks from what seems like a very powerful fire. It is like something i see hung up in display cases at locksmith shops and such. I tried to take a good picture of it but.. well as you can tell its not that great.
The names on theses locks are mostly yale, and yale junior. I found a very old masterlock, and other locks with names like:
- protex
- hero
- rabbit
