Here is a pick of the locks I reasantly aquired off ebay, in truth I'm struggling with all of them, having not picked a great deal reasantly. None came with keys and I have two of each, they do look like a nice chalenge. Both the euro's are 6pin. Looking at Han Fey's articly maybe they are assa twins? All help apreciated.

well from everything i have read about these locks they are considered advanced, so there wont be much discussion here in the open forum. they are some nice looking locks and should be a real challenge to you though. Good Luck with these.

If all he wants is to know what locks they are, there's no problem. If they are high security then picking and bypass won't be discussed. Sorry DaWolfMan, I don't know what locks they are.

I understand that the locks may be advanced, but thanks for the input anyway dawolfman , if in the end they are, the advanced forums will be getting some reading and questions. I get the feeling they are a little beyond me but maybe not once i know whats inside them.

The winkhaus (bottom left) looks like a Titan keyway to me, I may be wrong tho.

The Assa has a sidebar and I'll assume it's a Twin since it doesn't have the V-10 markings.

I think I can just make out a "C" marking on the plug of the ASSA, which we have on the ASSA's at work.
If you got the ASSA in the UK it is most likely to be a "Twin Combi", which if I remember correctly comes in two models
1800 - 2 sidepins
5800 - 5 sidepins
The idea is that the lower security one is installed on non-critical doors that you want as part of the same masterkey suite as the higher security model.
Where I work we have 1800/5800s installed practically universally, but I've never opened one up.
I have looked inside a 4800 I got on ebay, which is practically a rebranded schlage primus (this one had 3 sidebar pins, but space for the full 5), so may have the same mechanism as the 1800/5800 series.
The ASSA Twin (as opposed to Twin Combi) is branded as the Assa Twin 7000 here in the UK, and has the code on the sidebar, with standard pins, rather than a standard sidebar and coded pins.

There's a couple of different possibilities for the winkhaus euro-profile cylinder, depending on what's in the keyway. Might just be pin tumbler, might have some side pins too. My guess would be that it is a VS6 series cylinder with 6 regular pins, and a few side pins. I think they make VS6's with up to 5 side pins per side, which effectively adds the entire locking mechanism of a decent dimple key lock (say KESO) to a regular euro pin tumbler. I'm honestly not sure whether to really count this as high security, since it is vulnerable to a variety of common techniques, but I'll take the path of discretion and wait for someone else to mention that aspect.
I would mention that if you try to pick it, you'll have to be darn careful not to loose side pins in the keyway when you rotate the plug.

Seems to me I got quite a buy, I bought these locks without knowing what they were, (beyond euro cylinders), ended up with various high security locks for £2 each. Shame I've got no keys though.

Except you've actually got 1 euro, 1 Oval, and 1 rim cylinder!
If the ASSA opens like mine, you can shim from the back without worrying about the sidebar, as the groove in the shell extends all the way through, so the plug can be slid forwards without the sidebar retracting.
Of course this is of no use to defeating a cylinder when in a door, but feel free to move this to the advanced section if I've said too much!
