I bought one at a locksmith's shop. Wasn't really hard to find. Nice hockey puck. Made a partial-cutaway out of the lock insert.

I bought my american 1205 from a locksmith stand at a flea market. I've also never seen them out in stores.

Correct. In fact you will recognise them by the same (AM) key used for American Brand Locks.

superchicken,

If you continue to have trouble finding some and woulds like to get one, I have a couple of 1105's blue anodized aluminum body (no key included) I would work out as sell or trade with you. Keep searching and if no luck, give me a PM.

Also you could check Ebay...you may pay a little bit more but if your set on getting an american brand this may be a way to go, that is if you want one with a key and cant find one here

I've seen them for sale at Ace hardware stores before but your better off buying one from a locksmith. If your getting one for picking get an aluminum one they are usually no more than $14.00.

brinkshroud

the brinks is possibly a copy of the american lock but I believe the tolerances are a bit looser. this is an opinon not some measurements I have made. maybe they bought all the tooling that american was selling after they had worn it out.
