Baldwin Locks

Where do these puppies rank in the Lock difficulty heirarchy? The one I've got my hands on has a diagonal warding pattern, so I can't leverage my picks off the wards.

Theres one on my front door. Mainly because my mom decided it "just looked perfect" instead of picking on security. The cylinder is a 5 pin schlage full of high low/ and spools. Lots of Brass on the lock, but its still nothing that will keep a determined thief out.

I don't know if all of them are like this, but how do you deal with the strange wards?

The one I have is a Schlage C keyway. You just tilt your pick a bit to get up there and then your okay.

as chucklz said tilt the pick a lil and becareful not to scratch your $300-600 baldwin with a $40-50 cyl. You mention strange wards... look at the side of the door .. is it two seperate bolts sticking out or is it one long plate connecting the bolt ... and is the inside or outside connected on the face of the door? if so you may have a baldwin mortise lock... in which case it may not be a schlage cyl.

No, I just received Varjeal's package, and it's the same profile as the Baldwin. I'm working up my skills to work with it...
