busted briefcase

I am tryng to open a briefcase that I haven't used in over 10 years. It has two PRESTO combination locks with 3 tumblers each. I know it is the type that can be reset but can't remember the combination. How can I get this open?

The esiest to explain is sequential testing.

Start at 000 and work your way to 999, it's slow and boring, but sooner or later you get the combo.

The other method is to look for the flat spots on the combo wheels. If you can see these at the edge of the number wheels, get them to line up, and then add seven I think, and get the proper combo numbers.
