Hercules Locks

Anyone know anything about hercules locks? I was walking around town today, Walked up by where the power company used to have their fleet garage, Its just an empty building now... anywho... found a hercules lock laying there... I don't know if it was used by the power company or what... it was just laying there... finders keepers eh?!

Looked on their site... says they're solid brass... 5 pins... anyone know if they've got security pins? its a model 800...
I wish the world was flat like the old days, and I could travel just by folding the map.

Alright! cracked this puppy open!

Doesn't seem to have any securtiy pins... a slightly warded keyway... nothing too bad... first 2 pins set pretty easily, last 4 set in the order 6,5,4,3... smooth rotation of the plug... viola... fun lock though... Heavy...

Might pack this one to school with me to practice with...

I couldn't open this lock with the standard short hook from Southord... I have one with a metal handle on it... and one is just a regular pick... no handle... a while back I slimmed down the one without the handle... I slipped it into the lock and click click click it was open... A valuable lesson to see that the *slightest* differences in pick shapes can make a difference..
