hi guys,
could you help this has been bugging me for a while,i go to a job its a aliminum patio door the key keeps turning in the lock so i remove the lock (by the way the door is locked) try to open with lock out, still wont open,so i assume the mechanism is faulty.
anyway opend another door to let them in but had to leave the patio door as i have no other way of opening it.what would you guys do in the same situation,you can post in the secure section if you wish

From the inside with the door supported, see if you have enough vertical travel to lift the hook latch out of its strike.

Capt is right, if the plug keep spinning freely it means that it is not comming in contact with any cam or hook or anything.
