My First Cut Away!

My First Cut Away!

Postby eSTRICTLYFOREIGN » 25 Jul 2008 11:30

So I made my first cut away lock. I decided to buy a very cheap lock so that I could learn properly. I took a rotary tool with a cut off disk to it. I disassembled it first! Then, I slowly cut away the sides of the wall,
then... out of nowhere, to cut off disk gets jammed, shattering it instantly. So then I had to find another disk that was very thin, and wad the last one "hard to see". Then I needed to put the top back on but it was only solder filling in the holes. So I took out the tumblers and filled to top with hot glue than removed it to make a insert thingy.

As I said before, it is a cheap lock (look at the tumble pattern on the key  ) But I had fun doing it.

Here is a picture, as you can tell my camera didn't want to focus on the lock, no matter how hard I tried)

good start!

some cameras have a setting for objects close-by, e.g. a button with a flower icon.

Cheers,

My camera does have a close-up setting (which it was set to), it would focus on it but then "unfocus" before I could take a picture... :(

But I shall reattempt again!

you may have been too close, most macro's are good up to about 3-5 inches for really close up shots, come camera's can get closer, my lil samsung can go up to about 2inches depending on what im shooting
we all try our hardest at what we do, it's the great ones that understand its not what you do, it's how you do it and accomplish it and embrace there strength despite anyone's opposition.
