Now what's the difference between this lock and the one in your sig?

not the same identical lock if that's what youre saying. just happy coincidence that they look a like. notice my sig's Biaxial logo is much bigger and my lock says 51S on it.

thanks for asking,

mechanically, nothing. cosmetically, my lock was made in a different year, when Medeco wanted to differentiate Original Medeco to its customers and made the Biaxial logo very very large. The UL also gave this style of Medeco lock cylinder the designation of 51S when they were done testing it under the UL 437 standard.

Also, is there a point to your original question and to this new one, or are you just quizzing us?

ps. Another difference is that mine is picked, and yours isn't. You should get on that...

Looks like someone just removed the pins to give the illusion that the lock has been picked.

I really appreciate all of the information (although, what is cosmetically different is apparent).

squelchtone wrote:Also, is there a point to your original question and to this new one, or are you just quizzing us?

Yes there is a point and no I'm not quizzing you. The point is: I own this two of these locks (keyed the same) and sometime would like to have them picked. I don't know a lot about Medecos and trying to find information about these locks with nothing more than what you see in the picture is tough. The only reason I was curious about the lock in your sig is that my searches usually ended with a lock that looks like yours.

I'm just trying to get as much information I can without having access to the advanced forums and without breaking the rules.
