Information about locks themselves. Questions, tips and lock diagram information should be posted here.

antique lock identification

Postby Slim-pickins » 29 Sep 2008 11:02

I was wondering if someone can give me a link to a site that may help to identify a few antique locks that I have. I've found a few decent sites but none of them really tell how to "date" an old lock. If anyone at this site is good at that sort of thing...I can send a few pics. Thanks..

Just post a pic here. There are a lot of lockies (not including myself) who know a ton about old locks.

Better than any other site, I can assure you.

Hi and welcome!

Find a site that will share your photos by googling "share photos" or click
HERE

Now upload all your photos to that site and after you have done that,
post them here on LP101, by making a link that looks like this:

Image

Look for the [IMG] CODE

If the photo is very big, make the link look like this:

[url=http://The name of your photo sharing site/Picture.jpg/?
action=view&current=picture.jpg]Photo Description[/url]

Look for the link that starts with: http://
and then add

[url=http://][url=http://]Your Link Description[/ url][/url]

:D

Before you pick a lock:
The first thing that you should do is check to make sure that
the lock is your's and secondly make sure its not in use.
