Looking for information on this lock...

Postby x8xViperx6x » 26 Oct 2008 6:51

I got 2 locks from work, one I took apart, I work for a German Distribution Center, and I took a lock from work, to see if i could pick it.. The name on the lock says Wurth. I dont know if its german or what... but her some pictures, and info on this lock would be nice. The key has dimpples on one side, for the sidebar. It had 3 spool pins and 2 normal pins.

Hi,

1. I really hope you didn't take this lock from work without permission. If you did, please bring it back.

2. The mechanism in your lock is the EVVA DPS which is detailed in this sales brochure:
http://www.evva.com/uploads/media/DPS_Prospekt_EN.pdf

EVVA, an Austrian company, has been known to license their technologies to other lock manufacturers, and in this case it looks like Wurth bought the rights to put their name on an EVVA key and sell it as their own product. I have seen this before with IKON magnetic which is really an EVVA MCS mechanism.

Wurth, a German company, is from what I can read in my very limited German, a hardware manufacturer and distributor.

interested in more info? google "EVVA DPS"

But thanks much for the info, very interesting, just what I was looking for!

As squelchtone said, it is an EVVA DPS/DPX clone. A write up is in my book (click sig).
