Well for christmas this year I recieved many antique locks included one from china :). Here are some pictures of them. (HUGE PICS ARE HUGE)

i have to say the bat-lock is my favorite just because it seems to be the oldest :D

So the key just pushes the shackle out?

pretty much. Those two flaps of thin metal are stuck on two ledges inside the lock. The key just flattens those flaps so the shackle can be pulled out.
