zipper lock that hans mentions

Postby cppdungeon » 20 Jan 2009 0:42

Hans Conkel mentions a high-security "zipper lock" by a company that went out of business. its from the last HOPE talk about duplicating high security keys ( from here http://www.thelasthope.org/talks.html).

Does anyone know what lock this is?

Correction: it was Hans Fey or Barry Wels. I'm not actually sure who was speaking.

It's Han Fey, at around 54 mins into the recording.

He mentions a "flexible key" lock,
you can see some drawings here:

They also showed up on ebay some time ago.

I found one manufacturer: Ta Pe Ying http://www.tapeying.ttnet.net/ (e.g. TPY-362)

Cheers,

There was some discussion about the flexible-key lock. I believe we concluded that it was nothing more than a gimmick. Search around, the thread must be around here somewhere.
