I own it and it does not worth the price !
It's more like a toy now for me.

The engraved scales are in the wrong place in my opinion. And it is not precise.
Moreover, on steel blanks, it's very hard to cut.

Maybe on cars'blanks it's useful like on the youtube' videos, but I don't have any.

i got one of this and paid less than the price on this page
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.16425
i made copy from this deadbolt key i have to see if works
and it works pretty good no problem also
works pretty good to make bump keys and some regular keys
i haven't used it on steel blanks i guess you can make some
picks for dimple locks.

i have the stainless klom version...they say it is suppossed to be better than the lishi..when i bought it a while back they said the orange handled lishi cutters break...but who knows...I bought it to play with and have never actually used it for a job...sits with the rest of the junk that looks cool and never gets used.

It can break, I've done it.

I was testing it out on a few car keys and tried to punch a 5 cut on a GM "Z" key and the cutter head snapped off. I'm not using this thing on anything but the Lishi emergency key from now on.
If a lock is a puzzle, then its key is the complete picture

Oh boy. DX is relentless. I've seen so many questionable stuff there and I'm sure they have absolutely no respect for patents or trademarks. Anything to make a quick buck.

I hear some horror stories from people on this site, and I have lots of friends who buy from it. I will tell you what I have been told:

1. Electronic items are about the only ``safe`` thing to buy from there.

2. Keep each order under 6 items total in one shipment, less chance of them messing up.

3. Its not one big company, but more like a bunch of companies supplying one main place, or multiple companies shipping from one same name, (I've had items arrive with different return address'- but the same company name) Guess that may explain the mess ups, etc. Guess that kinda goes in hand with # 2

Personally speaking, I've never bought anything other than electronic items from them (odd batteries -CR123A and those other ones) and LED's- I've been happy with everything I get from them.

I will admit I wish they did a better job packing up the shipments thou. Guess thats the trade off with free shipping.
