Just a thought, how about changing the title of this forum to Locks & Keys? So if anyone has key questions they'll know to post it here. Just a thought, don't hurt me if you think its ridiculous..............

I won't hurt you :) But Lockpicking101 has become legendary thing. Even novice pickers know what you are talken about when LP101 comes up. Loosing the name would mean losing the status than comes with it. I'm not saying I don't like your suggestion but I wouldn't wanna trade in LP101 for something else

It's ridiculous! This is a forum about Lockpicking, Locksmithing, Locksport, Locks and Picks.

LP101 for ever. Now I kill you :)

Exactly! I was suggesting the SUB forum ie: lockpicks manual, lockpicks automatic, locks, general chatter. I think there should be a keys section or locks & keys

It is strange we don't have a forum for keys specifically. Key type, profile, terminology, these are all things covered partially in other forums, but require some searching to find. Maybe key cutting, and impressioning experiences as well. I especially would like photos of key bitings from different blanks, photos of rare blanks, maybe measurements or code readings from factory cut keys. Anything that could help in blank ID would be a huge asset. There are alot of cool possibilities, but it seems like it would mainly be a forum over run with questions about spacing, depth, and bump keys. Photos asking, "what key is this to?", or a spot to post scans of copyrighted material from different blank manufactorer's. Definately an idea worth discussing though.
Cool idea.

I think a forum for keys would be a great idea. I'm amazed it was not thought of before.

Just dropping in to voice my support for a Keys forum, or alternately changing the Locks forum into a "Locks and Keys" forum. Either of those make perfect sense to me.

Ditto from me as well - I've had to post a couple of key questions in "locks" as I couldn't think of anywhere better. Good suggestion 5thcorps!

I think it would also be nice to have a subforum for pickmaking so that all the entries on this could be gathered together in one place, I have made this suggestion before, and its come to nothing, though there are sub forums for the Office and the Boardroom, now. So obviously its been possible to make forums for new topics.

Perhaps someone will start another site just for pickmakeing or it has occured to me that there are probably a number of forums for knifemaking where information on steel and handle material, as well as fabricating techniques could be found. Along with some awesome fabricators.perhaps one of these could support a pickmaking subsection.
Wake up and smell the Kafka!!!
