The Schlage wafer lock was the first changeover from mortise locks to the modern day cylindrical lock cut back in 1927 by Ernie Schlage. The "A" keyway came out first followed by the "W" keyway.
Cool lock but hit it with a rake a few times and a five year old can pop it.
It used to be popular in resort beach areas since the low tolerance kept the sand from affecting the operation
in hotel applications.
I still have some factory key punches for the keys in the cabinet at work.
