pin in pin dimple locks

Information about locks themselves. Questions, tips and lock diagram information should be posted here.

pin in pin dimple locks

Postby l0ckp1cker » 5 Apr 2009 4:30

How do they work exactly?
Does anyone have a diagram of a pin in pin dimple lock?
I've been googling for it and searching sites of vendors selling these locks (Lips, Mul T Lock), but no luck so far :(
I can't seem to visualise how a pin in pin lock could work without having a problem with the inner spring and the shear line.

So more info would be highly appreciated ;)

good link Slick!, Blaze's site is a great place.

Here is a PDF from one of our members Deviant Ollam, page 51 tackles the operation of pin in pin style locks such as Mul-t-Lock.

http://www.blackhat.com/presentations/bh-europe-08/Deviant_Ollam/Presentation/bh-eu-08-deviant_ollam.pdf

I believe Deviant's site has some animations showing his static graphics in action so you can see the telescoping pins create a shear line by means of an animated GIF.

Enjoy,

I think deviant might want to update page 25 where he comments on how difficult dimple locks are

I was very interested in the security fable at around pagee 122 or 123,

I did not know that the american hockey puck could be bypassed through the cylinder, I think thats what hes implying, has anyone done that?
I have picked them, common american 6 pin types.

Does anyone know where I can get a pin-in-pin for under 40 bucks? I'm really on the lookout to try to get one of these
