Can you post a photo of the lock? It will help us identify it for you, give you some insights into the guts of the lock, and we'll all see it's not attached to anything. _absolutely_ no personal statement intended there, just a general rule of thumb.
It depends entirely on what the master lock is. I have one here sitting next to me right now that has five spool pins, and the housing is designed to slip a tension wrench. They can be anything from 3 pin baby-rattles that you can pick by slapping them against your palm a few times (seriously), to 5 security pinned hideousness.
Even the "easy" 4pin 120/130 series present their own interesting personalities. When they're that tight, single pin picking is a challenge - the pick can jam on that last pin and you need an absolute feather touch to coax it into position.
