Lock identification and key blank help

Postby Wolfe » 5 May 2009 12:01

What is this lock called first off(other than a deadbolt) if there is a name for it.
My next question does anyone know the blank used for this. Its obviously in the ILCO family of blanks looking for specific blank though...

Hi, These locks were once made by Segal and Taylor. They are now made by Ilco Kaba. Yours looks like a Taylor "night latch"/"dead latch"

The key should be Ilco IN35 /1054DL

Hi Keysman,

Since your name is Keysman, it's gonna be tough to argue with you, plus from your past posts I know you know what you're talking about, but I don't think it can be a Y1 because in the lock in the photo, the top of the keyway curves to the left, where a Y1 would just curve to the right and stop.

I made a comparison chart, and I think a Y1 blank would actually enter the keyway, but if any of the cuts are 1 the Y1 blank would be too "short" to lift the 1 pin to shear line. What do you think?

Respectfully,
Squelchtone

Nightlatch is manufactured by Ilco, Keyway is the old Lockwood 1004 keyblank.

04N is the blank.
That's the DL #, which is what I'm used to.
The Ilco # is 1004N
