Evva 3KS mortise cylinder gutted

Postby Baloopaloop » 24 May 2009 19:21

Hey peoples, I got kinda tired of regular picking and locks yesterday, and decided to break out the evva 3ks lock that I didn't understand the function of. I got it all apart, after a bit of figuring, and I've got everything out  now, if your interested in seeing what's inside, someones gotta explain how to post pictures on here.. the instruction thing went way over my head  I've been practicing picking it, and I've gotten 8 out of the 12 sliders so far, not bad for two days worth of trouble. But definately a very interesting lock design, to whoever designed this, my hat is off to you

Okay, I'll do my best to explain how this lock works through pictures and posts, If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. Big pictures coming up by the way

So here is the system

Image

and the dissesembly, I had already removed the cam from the back

Image

Now that the C clip is removed, all the sliders (soon to be shown) have to be inside the plug, I found that my key withdrawled all the sliders when almost fully inserted, but the profile bar restricted me from doing this, so I shaved off the profile bitting on one of my keys for easy dissesemly.

normal key

Image

My special key

Image

So here is the shape of the housing interrior

Image

what's inside???

Image

Image

• the break down

the sidebars

Image

the profile bar

Image

and the sliders

Image

Image

sliders in place with the correct key inserted

Image

notice that the sliders have a post in the center of each one, they line up when the correct key is inserted, the side bars have this shape

Image

the posts line up in the middle resetion of the sidebar which allows it to drop into place, in turn allowing the plug to rotate.

when the wrong key is inserted...

Image

locked sidebar

Image

correct key, when rotated will push against the housing, depressing the sidebars

Image

Next we have the profile bar

Image

with the right key profile they line up perfectly

Image

Now, just how all the parts sit together when they are actually together

Image

Now what I made to pick this beast  not perfect but so far it has held its' own pretty well

Image

and 8 sliders picked :P this took a while, believe me

Okay, your doing it mostly wrong.

You need to use the "img" tag from photobucket to post on here, not the lp101 add image.

basically when your on the main page of your photobucket, you should see links below all the small images, look for the "IMG Code" and cut paste that link into your reply here.

Better yet, look for the thumbnail image code if the images are large. If you want to remove your photobucket password, or just PM me it, I can clean up this thread for you.

Ugh, you want the links where the photo showed up in the thread here, not the clickable link. (the thumbnail link)

The sliders have two depth levels, the single post ones are deeper set than the twin post sliders. If you look at the key carefully you can see which track is which, the twin post sliders have a parellel track while the single post sliders have a single track line.
