obviously my master keys aren't the 'all encompassing master key' but they have opened over 70 mul t locks (40 of mine and the rest that one of my lockies (lockie who sells me old and used cylinders, locks etc) has let let me play with) , i am going to put some pics of my masterkeys on here in the next couple of days- detailed too, so you can see all the cuts, pin layouts (upper and lower pins) as well as the side dimples. i don't think it would be too hard to cut your own picks from these.(as long as you have a dremel, as well as a very steady hand). if you want some spare keys (non masterkeys, but maybe to practice on) then i can send you a 'couple' too. (first 3 people to pm me for them get 2 each free, plus postage) if this is of interest to you, please leave posts. if anyone else has mul t lock master keys, how about you doing the same?

What do you mean by "master keys"?

This is yet another one of your "really for sale" threads posted in the wrong sub forum..
Also, what you mention posting will have to be moved to advanced forums.. We don't really discuss masterkeys (the type you make mention of) in the public forums..

UNLISTED, hi, i am not selling the masterkeys (i don't want to sell them, nor would i since they defeat the whole purpose of picking. )- i am (or was going to) provide a detailed photo analysis of them instead. if that is for the advanced forums only then that is fine, i can, instead, send you pics and you can put them on a post instead.(get in touch and i can pm them to you along with a picture of my arse) One more time, i am not selling master keys (if you had actually read the post properly you would have realized this)...i am giving away free mul t lock keys.(non masters).if thats against the rules, then fair enough. sorry for you around. should i get my coat?

Christmas,
These are just master keys for your locks, not for all Mul-T-Locks.

I think he's misusing the term "master keys" perhaps the OP means a bump key? Squelchtone

I got a couple of locks from him, some MTL interactive ovals. He is a top seller, good communication & seriously fair prices. I think his original post was misinterpreted somewhat, and I can vouch for his integrity. I've literally just cut it away and put it back together. Was a bit dissapointed (on MTL's part, not Christmas) there's 3 inner pins missing! And to stop the top inner pin binding the lock they have put some wafers in there. I've since repinned it to have a little more 'variety', so, without further a-do, here's some pics http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/1917/cimg6067.jpghttp://img222.imageshack.us/img222/6119/cimg6068.jpgThe 1mm cut was hairy to say the least! Glad my attachment diddn't snap half way through!

I bought some from him recently; they're master keys (which is good because I was looking for master pins, not bump keys!). I think his source of locks is just master keying all of these the same, which is why it might seem to be a universal master key to OP... dg

Well your bitting will be differen't to mine. I've seen all the MTL's he has, they range from thumb turns to half ovals and rim cylinders. I think each group is keyed alike. Here's my key profile for the half ovals. http://img241.imageshack.us/img241/2463/dscn0727u.jpg

The master keys open all his cylinders. My master (for all sets) is the same as that but with a higher pin 4. If you take your thumbturn apart you'll probably find a 1.5 mm (3) disc master pin, or a combination of 3/3 ring and pin master pins. His groups are keyed differently, but all more or less master keyed alike. Regardless, these are master keys for THESE locks, not all Mul-T-Locks. dg

I think he's under the impression that such a key exists. I guess I'll be the one to have to say it bluntly. christmas8371: there are no mul-t-lock master keys that will open all mul-t-locks on the planet, other than perhaps a mul-t-lock bump key. There is no such thing as an "all encompassing master key" and I really hope that your locksmith isn't selling mul-t-locks to all of his customers that all have the same master key pinning for his convenience when they get locked out, or out of laziness because he doesn't want to create individual master key systems for each customer. I know the name "master key" sounds very magical and powerful, but it is not a master key to all locks on the planet. Simply to the locks that have pins matching that master key's bitting/dimple cuts, which is usually a small business, a school, a factory building or an office building, where each employee has a change key to their office, but the manager has a master key to open all of the offices. That's what a master key is. Squelchtone

And the even operation of such keys on all mul-t-locks is moot. Selling a MtL with 3 missing pins doesn't exactly seem like something a "top seller" would do.
