If you were always locking your keys in the care it would be a decent place to keep a spare key. More secure than duct taping it to the gas door, and no more rediculous than a plastic rock. At least it has a little 4 wheel combo to get jammed with street grit when the dust cover gets busted or lost.  *blank*

Seems like a decent idea to me, but the actual product doesn't appear to be made very well.

... I believe the plan is to use a "Locking pin" to secure that lockbox...  Personally, I'd rather use that than a magnet box thingy...

In some older cars the back light or blinker(?) has phillips screws, there might be enough room for a key.
all you need is a screw driver, and you´re on the road again..

Not a great idea. It's bad to have things clunking around in there. It may be possible to see the key when the light is illuminated. "Lockpicking is what robbing is all about!" says Jim King.

My biggest beef with this is how it is advertised. I don't like the magnetic key holders or fake rocks, either  It looks like it could be easily decoded once the cover is off. I agree it's better than the mag key holder, but it would still make me nervous to trust my wallet, keys, etc to it.

The product is a great idea, but as usual, implementation sucks hard. Isn't there already enough examples of those combolocks being decoded?

Yes there is. But considering the other options (leaving the key on a wheel, "hidden" in a magnetic key box stuck to the underside of the car, etc) I would prefer this method. (but than again, I'd just build my own with a different type of lock...)
