Hi. I want to remove a euro lock from my Italian secuity door (DIERRE). The lock cylinder is held into a steel shuttle by one screw. And then a holding plate is screwed over the lot. The lock and shuttle should just slide out when the holding plate is removed. But it is stuck. I cannot remove it. What to do next?

Did you try with the key at different angles? Euro cylinders cannot be removed at the "0 degree" position of the key.
Cheers, mh

Hello, Could you post a photo of the lock? Maybe we will notice a detail that will help you remove the lock from the door. Also, a photo of the side where the retaining screw inserts. Thanks Squelchtone

The screw is on left side of lock. I made an allen key to fit the screw head. But it's not possible to fit an allen key into that space AND turn the screw.

ahh, I guess you did that already. Now, if you insert the key and pull on the cylinder, what does it do? jiggle? really stuck? If you can move it a little bit but then it stops, I would assume the cam in the middle of the Euro cylinder isn't at the right angle. If it's really stuck, then the components in the door maybe have moved a bit and you would have to use force to pull it our (or better push from the outside).
Cheers, mh

I pull the cylinder for only 1cm and then it is stuck and sounds like something is blocking it.

I thought of this forum as an ideal place for my enquiry. But, I am still in the same situation as before - I cannot remove this lock. I'll try elsewhere, then . Someone, somewhere, must know why it is blocked.

We pick locks for fun, we are not a 24/7 Free Technical Support line for locksmiths. Everything the others suggested should work for you. After you remove the set screw from the edge of the door, remove the interior handle, plate, part (f), parts (g) and now from the outside remove the small plate (h) or the thick plate (m), and insert key into lock, rotate key slowly while pushing on the lock, keep rotating so the cam cam find the place where it will move freely, if the cylinder starts to move, remove the key and push the cylinder out of the door. I am not a locksmith. A profesional locksmith came and opened this door without a key from the exterior and then told me he is unable to replace the lock because he does not know the technique. The lock is still stuck in the door after I followed all instructions. I will phone the door manufacturer (DIERRE) again to resolve the situation.
