Is there some mechanical reason the 6th chamber isn't cut away? One of these days I'll attempt a cutaway of one of my mortise cylinders but if that chamber needs to stay closed I'd rather find out about it now than after I cut into it.

I have no idea why 6th chamber isn't cut away
maybe someone here knows and can tell us
if there is any mechanical reason thanks.

Just about all factory medeco cutaways are 5-pin. My guess is that they wanted to do a 6 pin without changing the CNC programing. There is no functional reason for the sixth chamber not to be cutaway.

Please disregard this statement. It's incorrect. Only the Original cutaways where 5-pin. For some reason I thought that some of my m3 cutaways were 5-pin locks.
