Besides whatever that piece in the front of the plug is (better view at the back), it looks equivalent to older pin-based EVVA DPS locks. More info available at http://lockwiki.com/index.php/EVVA_DPS.

Passive sidebar is useless, don't have to worry about it. I made a cutaway of a DPs and they are pretty similar.
What a load of old BiLocks!!!!

I'm probably 0 for 400 in looking for safes behind wall paintings

Yeah, the photo is rather precise, i doubt they would have forgotten a pin, but remembered to have the longer spools. My guess is something to do with that plate at the front of the plug, that datagram pointed out earlier.

The ebayer has sent me a DPS instead, not sure of the difference.

I just picked the DPS no sweat

BUT

it locks up at a 45 degree turn, i take it that means the sidebar bit has come into play. Im not gonna try and pick further and risk not being able to return the plug as i do plan on fitting this lock

The sidebar is passive.

The sidebar coding on the key is dealer specific. Your company buys Profile-X and my company buys Profile-X, we get different sidebar codes, so my key cut to the same code won't operate one of your locks.

It's just like an inline-6 restricted key, but with a little added restriction.

Turn the plug clockwise with no key in it (ie picked) and the sidebar has a trap in it and it will be fun to rectify.

Go on, you know you want to

Its actually really easy to bypass that "trap", just use your pick and prod around in the general area of the sidebar, with a little practice you can do it in a couple seconds.
