Removing Pins from a Medico

Removing Pins from a Medico

Postby cyrus104 » 25 Feb 2010 1:12

I wanted to check and see how hard it is to remove pins from a Medico M3. I'd like to play with one or two pins in just to see if I could get that. I have a couple of Medeco 1" Mortisde Cylinder M3 and a KiK Cylinder.

Thanks

This shouldn't be too difficult. I have an M3 key in knob cylinder in front of me. It has some kind of a black slide/clip (spring cap) that covers all the springs. It isn't too hard to slide that cap off and dump out the pins you don't want in the lock.

I don't have an M3 mortise cylinder in front of me. I think they are like the older Medecos, and they all used grub screws for each chamber. You'll need an allen wrench. Then simply take the screws out of the cambers you don't want any pins in and dump the pins out.

Have fun picking. Medeco locks can be quite challenging at first, but they're fun.

Thanks, I will have to check and see if they have the grub screws in them. Hopefully they do but who knows it that is exactly what I ordered. With shipping taking as long as it does to get to me it makes it kind of hard to send stuff back.

Thanks again
