Padlocks that look harder than they are

Just did a job for customs opening a padlocked storage unit.

The padlock was a huge squire closed shackle thing, very intimidating to look at, i didnt fancy my chances.

to my suprise it was open in a few rakes and jobs a good en.

I suppose the main aim of the heavy duty padlocks is to put off potential thieves with hacksaws and grinders, disgusting that they should be picked so easilly though

Im not suprised Rick. That looks like an "S" series lock, I bought a SS65CS which is graded CEN 6 (The highest grade they did) and was so disappointed when I had it open in less then 5 mins.

it does depend on the bittings though, some of these have high cuts at the tip of the keys and are evil

I went to Home Depot (I know, I know) and asked for their most pick resistant lock. The lady handed me the largest master lock like the size of the lock really mattered.
