Smaller Masterlocks

sorry for the newbie post but for the smaller keyways what do you recommend that i use to pick them? or how should i go about picking them..
It has been brought to my attention that some users do not like the fact that my username has the word "Crook" in it. It is a 10 year old gamertag and I am working on changing it. I hope that it has not caused any confusion // misinterpretation.

A short hook will defeat pretty much any master lock. You may need to use TOK tension for some of them but that's about the height of it, no matter how hard the bitting is their profiles are very forgiving.

Just to be clear, Master keyways are all the same size. Looking at some of their locks side by side you'd swear one keyway was smaller and/or tighter but they are in fact identical. Some are just better made than others and the age of the lock is a factor aswell. They actually do have a large variety of profiles but only a couple of them are really common - and like I said, none of them are hard to get a pick around anyway.

Just out of curiosity though, which locks are you talking about?

I donno man, I recently had to open a gun cable lock (as a demo for a gun shop where I buy all my guns) and I can tell you that the second I put the wrench in at the bottom, I had no room to put a half diamond in unless I fully lifted the 1st pin. I ended up doing top of keyway in order to have room to get under the pins and rake it open. I will admit this was a generic Master keyway, on this lock: http://cgi.ebay.com/230384773940

The owner will now be calling me to pick all the locked guns that come in the door, I think he's been drilling them out up to this point. (People will come in and say my husband/grandpa died and these are his guns and we want to sell them, but don't know where the keys are)
