If this is not cool Mods, please delete. Would very much like to know how people who have bought my cutaways are getting on with them. It's been long enough now to see how my work is handling real world use & conditions. I'll put a little list up below to give you an idea of what I'm after 1: What model is it? 2: How long have you had it? 3: What is its primary function? (Bumping/picking, bumping AND picking, collection, impressioning, anything homebrew & specific to just that model lock which you made using that lock etc...) p.s I always recommend against bumping my cutaways when people ask if they can, even though I know they probably will still do it .... I am pretty confident that a majority (Like the MTL Euros) of my locks would equal an untouched lock in resistance to damage anyway, but yeah, all info pertaining to that very welcome! 4: Anything else you think I would need & also enjoy to know, please say so 5: A picture of the lock in its 'habitat' (whether its in a cabinet, on your desk ready to have a 'quick pick', or just being used as a paperweight!) and any nice little stories about conversations it's started, educations its given, and opinions it has brought. Cheers guys! Hope you all had a good start to what I hope is a good year for all of you Spence

I will start. From you I got the Zi-IKON MT5 and got you to cut away one side of it, so far it has sat on my desk taunting me. A couple of times I have had a play around with it and my picks with no luck but I did mainly get it to have in my collection Have only had it a couple of months now.

Oooh yeah...... 'them!' I have nightmares about them. I cut 15 of those. 10 in one sitting :/ Beautiful locks though, really so happy that the cylinder design allowed me to do the cuts I did. One thing, how big is the alpha spring window on yours? I done two types. 2mm and 2.5mm. If you have a micrometer that would be great. If not, no worries Thanks for the info.

I use the EVVA 3KS, DPS and the Euro Mul-T-Lock interactive I purchased from you in my presentations pretty regularly. All have held up beautifully. The 3KS even got some sugar in it (long story, but short version is we were attempting to make edible keys) but a light cleaning had it working well again.
The DPS you actually sold at a significant discount because it had a somewhat arrested operation. I've found after much use, that if I pinch the key, pushing the plug inward as I slide the key out, it operates perfectly. It's not ideal, but considering the price I paid it's a very happy compromise.

Excellent! That's really made my day hearing about the edible keys! The 3KS is one of my all time favorite locks, and I toiled long & hard to get the most exposure while maintaining full functionality. The problem with them is the complexity of design, they don't allow for all that I want to cut. Could you just confirm which model 3KS it is? RC or Euro, and also the MTL interactive.... is it one of my early ones or later 'super cut' type. If you don't have pics, let me know what key way it has, I should be able to remember p.s This is the final design I finished with the 3KS http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8TGkxmkdsk I know 100% that it won't be this cut, so I'm guessing it will be one of the rims I cut with the dark face and squared off body? Thanks for your input!

hahaha Quote From the Video wrote:It's still a nice lock though, I think you'll agree... *long pause* It's a bit of a bugger to take apart...
I can only imagine how they are to work with. I cut a bunch of Abus Plus disc detainers recently which was both a simpler cut and while a bit time consuming to take apart, no where near as arduous or tiny as sliders. I actually like the cut you sold me a bit better than the one in that vid. I'll send you photos of their natural habitat. The 3KS in particular I usually keep nearby. On my desk or in a pocket. It's always a great reaction when someone picks it up with the key inside, plays with that for a bit, then remove the key and are SHOCKED at what the key looks like. But yes, I'll try to grab you a couple photos. Every lock I got off you were Euros. The Mul-T-Lock & DPS were both half-cylinders, not sure what you europeans call them specifically and the 3KS was exactly as pictured in your video, only mine was cut on all 4 sides and a bit more was revealed than in your vid.

They are fiddly to get apart, but I used a piece of metal I filed down perfectly so you insert it down one side of the sliders, then the other.... thus centralizing them perfectly to remove the cylinder. The 3KS keys are beautiful, and I keep one on my keyring even though I don't have the lock because I can guarantee if they are left on a table, they will get picked up for inspection by people who don't even like or care about locks! Pics would be brilliant..... I think I know which one it is. I'm just not sure if its the one with half the cylinder missing.... Cheers

It is a 2.5mm cut for the Alpha spring, I forgot to get the photos of the Assa Abloy MT5 for you too, will get on to that

Ahh yeah, that's the last design I settled on then. It looks like its holding on by a paper width & has always worried me!

Hi SnowyBoy, I have a cutaway you made, I got it second hand. Let's answer to your questions. 1. EVVA DPS half cylinder, euro profile, one original key; 2. I got it last year; 3. only for picking; 4. sometimes the tip of the pick slips in the wide cut. This is confusing, since I don't know how to interpret the feedback. Then I notice the strange feedback and move the pick out of the cut. Nothing bad, it's how picking a cutaway works. Let me add that it's a work of art! Cuts are wide and straight, the lock works smooth and you can see all the moving parts. 5. the lock is in a wooden box full of locks, next to my sofa. When I want to play I pick up a random lock from the box and pick it. Haven't taken a picture of the box, I think it doesn't worth it. Cheers

Top info! I recall seeing the thread where it was sold to you. Was nice to see them getting passed around I understand how loosing the pick in the cuts can be frustrating. It's something I didn't really think of :/ A picture of said box would be well worth it mate! If you can of course
