low security locks

I recently got some locks from a local thrift shop and they turned out to be very easy to open

one of the locks was a 45 mm Gaurd padlock, and the other was a 50mm ARAX.
both of these locks have very weak springs.

i was wondering if anybody had similar experiences with locks?
are there any locks that i should not even bother buying?

I always found the standard masterlock was incredibly easy to pick. I ran into one in a box in my fiances house that was a bit old and battered, and it might as well have opened itself.

They aren't good for practice, but if you want to demonstrate picking and teach to some newbies, an easy lock is a very good idea.
