I'm not sure I could tolerate dragging around the 14mm stuff.

This will be for a bicycle.

Both locks offer good protection against picking. (The Abus Granit might be even better)
However, you should choose the lock/chain with the best resistance against bolt cutters.

Do you think a 14mm chain would be worth the extra weight to carry?
