7 pin SFIC arrow

Ok so I just got this in the mail last night, so I did some research on SFIC, because I wasn't really feeling like grinding down a new tension wrench that would fit in the wardings.


Maybe its just me but I really enjoy that the faceplate comes off.



Ok, now on to questions, I was reading that you can use a Finch-style torque wrench to put pressure on the control sleeve to aid in picking to the control line, except in a few models of the arrow, because the control sleeve doesn't go all the way around. Never having seen the inside of a SFIC lock, I have to assume that this is one of the kind that you can't manipulate the control sleeve.



How did I get so lucky that my first ICC I can remove from the lock, is one of the few that don't have a standard vulnerability. Does anyone have any advice as to how to pick this, so that the two shear lines don't mess me up?

Now on to pins. I remember a few people saying that SFIC cores generally don't use security pins.

In all seriousness though, I have a sneaking suspicion this has been re-keyed, likely to punish me for some earlier misgivings in life. Karmic retribution aside. Is this normal for an arrow ICC? Also, does anyone have any reason as to why there is a small spool pin, on top of the spring? or shall I put it back on top of the pin stack where I'm pretty sure it belongs? It came out of the lock exactly as shown in the picture.

Actually another question, I was reading that you can use a punch tool to remove the pins from the cylinder. Is that going to work on this lock? I've got a nice thick paperclip that fits about perfect in the holes, but I don't want to damage my pins by pounding on it if its not going to come loose. Any advice?

The paper clip probably won't be strong enough to " pop" the caps. I use an allen wrench comes in a mini screwdriver kit.

Damage the pins? Well... just be gentle with the punch

The punch tool is called an ejector. You won't damage the pins but you WILL crush the springs by using it.
