Information about locks themselves. Questions, tips and lock diagram information should be posted here.

Security pins: Different types, and difficulty?

Postby cliffordsr » 8 Jan 2012 15:00

Ok, I have a feeling that the answer to this has already been posted, but after multiple searches and an hour of browsing, I will ask.

First:
What are all the different types of security pins? The ones I know of are spool pins, serrated pins, spoolated pins, and mushroom pins. Any others?

Second:
Of those four types of pins, and any others you guys can think of, whats the order of difficulty (easiest to hardest to pick)? Just guessing, I would say mushroom, spool, serrated, spoolated, but I haven't had a chance to pick securities yet, so I'm not sure.

I'm not sure what you're typing in your searches but...

and I would say spool is easier to pick, then mushroom, then serrated.
