What does this symbol mean? (Schlage Keys)

Postby misterj » 10 Jan 2012 19:23

Random curiosity here...can't find the answer to it.

This symbol that somewhat resembles a w is on every Primus classic or Everest key that I've seen. At first I thought it was something meaning "high security," but the Everest really isn't a high security key. Anyone know what it actually means?

Here it is on the master to one of the buildings at work (Primus) and my house key (Everest C145):

Bo Widen is the inventor for both of those systems

You can find the Bo Widen's logo on all the keys for locks he invented, including the ASSA Twin, the new ASSA d12 and the Schlages from the OP.

Thanks!

I knew it had to mean SOMETHING... I just couldn't figure out what. Random curiosity satisfied!

Incidentally, he's also the inventor of the various flavors of ASSA sidebar systems (Twin 6000 et al, V-10, etc.).
