Yes,quality is poor. It made from zinc&aluminium alloy.

There was many lock maker factory in USSR. But this lock have not some letters, only logo.
At the foto you can see same type lock but with another logo.

If you are interesting I try to find the manufacturer's name.

I guess I have a padlock like this I got from Moscow. If I find it I'll post some pictures, it's still in its box.

Cheers :)

It's always a pity to see something made badly when the theory behind it is so good :S

Kerti/Femurat:
Do you know it's name? I'm sure the company which makes them is Russia calls them something. Or at least the company name ? :)

I hear there are some really good lock too in Russia. Due to the high crime rate or so I believe (?)

This lock has low price. About $9. That is why quality is so bad.
Also it has not model name. At the packing box is written "Door lock"

But for that lock I know the name of manufacturer- JSC "Stakhanov Hardware (Metalwork) Plant ".People who sell that lock call it "Stakhanov"

I visited the sites written on the packaging, http://www.ruslocks.com/katalog/item/vs2-4a shows my exact padlock, the other site is reported as known malware distributor so chrome blocked it.

Cheers :)

Cool thanks for the post Femurat!
A pity I can't speak Russian...
The padlocks locks interesting, but a bit shabby.
Well since kerti said they are cheap they probably compete against the Chinese ones, and they might well be better than those...

 So the site of an actual lock manufacturer distributes malware.... LOL...
Russia.... :D

Wonderful post Femurat!

This lock has aliminium body(!) Yes it is cheap, simple lock. " Cheboksarskiy zamok"--"Cheboksarskiy lock"

The chaz.ru was hacked I belive.

It is so funny, but chineese manufacturers makes the fakes of these locks. Yes :D The russian lock maker use the special security labels to protect his locks from that fakes.
