Two pronged key

Postby nighthawk1 » 22 May 2013 1:57

Hey guys, I need some help, I'm playing a game and someone was mailed this key as a clue Image just wondering if you could identify what kind of lock a key like that would fit, I'd really appreciate any help. Thanks!

I don't think it's an actual key in the traditional sense. It has no biting. It seems to me it is more like a tool than a key. :)
I think it goes into 2 holes (duh) and it is to turn sth.
To infinity... and beyond!

I have seen 'keys' like that on switches for large power tools. More like a safety lockout to prevent unauthorized people from turning it on and hurting themselves.

Good luck with the game. It sounds fun already.

I have seen a very similar "key" and it is used to open the bait stations (big rat traps) that are all around our buildings at work. Here is a picture of one

hope it helps with whatever you are doing, but just a word of caution; don't screw around in bait stations, they have really nasty cemicals in them...

Along the lines of what Gordon was saying, there is a "key" that is used as a power disconect for a tractor or some sort of big land mover. Here is a link to the thread, you might find it useful, who knows:

Ok, my last idea; it looks a bit like what is called a "green-repair tool". Maybe your game will take you to a golf course? Just google "green-repair tool" in images and you can see infinite different types of them.

Ok, I'm done now! But, we would love to know what it is for when you find out! :D

Thanks for the quick replies! A green repair tool was one of the only things we could come up with as well, but I think this would leave a bigger divot than it repaired. It definataly seems to me like it was made as a key, but it might be a one-of-a-kind. I'll certainly let you guys know what it is when we find out.
