Schlage Primus finger pins

Postby cledry » 13 Dec 2014 23:54

Had a strange thing occur this past week. A customer brought in some of their Schlage keys for us to use to key up a few LFIC cylinders. The first 4 finger pins loaded up just fine but the 5th finger pin seemed to be a half depth. None of my finger pins would allow the side bar to drop in. So I had them bring in one of their factory keyed cylinders and the 5th finger pin was slightly different than any in my kit. These are not the newer Primus with the extra shallow finger pin either.

Just wondering if this is something Schlage does to make you go back to them for keying?

Yes depending on what level of Primus the customer is using.

If you have the little blue finger pin kit you only have pins for level 1 and level 1+.
