Bills video was the only thing I have found on the Internet about this. Not shure if he's just realy good at picking locks or the lock is easy.
that lock has spool pins, if you aren't sure what those are, you may not be ready to pick such a lock, spool pins are security pins meant to slow pickers down.
Get a Brinks deadbolt at Walmart for $12 and take it apart, then pin it up 1 pin stack at a time until you can pick all 5 pins. Then you should be able to pick the R80 easily. Also, if you have a key for it, insert the key and turn the plug to see how much force is needed to rotate the gear drive shackle.
Also, we dont know what your home brew diamond pick looks like, maybe that's what's causing you trouble. Upload a photo of it next to something common like a dollar bill or a quarter or house key so we can see the size and angles on it.
