ML 140's revamped?

Postby Comrade627 » 18 Feb 2015 20:29

I'm wondering, have 140's been changed lately? I'd ALWAYS have trouble with them which was weird to me since I often rekey my practice locks with spools and serrateds (that word looks weird) but this morning I figured, eh, why not. So I pick up a 4 pack and get down to business. 1, bam 2, bam, 3 bam, 4 bam all in about 70 seconds total. I also noticed a new stamp on the bottom. Perhaps ML changed their production method a bit? Notice the 3314BC stamp. I've never seen a 140 with anything other than 140 on it, so it made me wonder.Image

Is it possible that that number is the key code? There is usually a small white oval-shaped sticker on the back of the packing (or on the card insert) with either a straight cutting code or a lookup code for the keys, see if it matches.
I have never bought the multi-pack (or Keyed Alike) 140's and most of mine only have the body width (40mm) stamped on the lower face.

Two questions:
1. Do all of the locks use the same key?
2. If they do, are you willing to PM me a picture of the key so I might determine if 3314BC might in fact relate to the cuts as a code?
