Simplex Override Cylinder

Hello,

I have been meaning get a spare simplex 900 override cylinder to play with, but they are a touch on the pricy side so I was wondering if anyone knows of locks with comparable keyways?

I have been looking at the Corbin 981 as a possibility and I know that the Ilco L1003A is compatible, but haven't been able to identify any locks using it.

So, any specific tactical reason you need to play with a Simplex keyway? is that a target lock you are working on? it just seems very specific. (if that's what they use at your school, please resist picking locks in use on dorms, labs, and offices) The standard Yale keyway for Simplex is E1R which pretty much looks like the Y1 keyway.. getting a cylinder with Y1 should be enough to get practice time in. You probably don't need the exact E1R keyway for practice, that's not how lock picking works anyway. knowing how pins and springs and shearlines work, and things like binding order is far more important than keyway profile.

The small Simplex 900 doesn't use a Y1.

If you want a lock cheap that uses this keyway buy a Hudson file cabinet plunger lock.
