(Lock) brand lock

Information about locks themselves. Questions, tips and lock diagram information should be posted here.

(Lock) brand lock

While doing some research on the DOM D lock cylinder (trying to locate one) on google.de I stumbled across this. From the key it looks like the brand is LOCK. I dont speak German so there was only so much searching I could do. I couldnt find an article or posts about it. If anyone.has any information about this cylinder it would be greatly appreciated. Looks like this lock would be a good pick.

Heres the key, I assume the brand is LOCK. Unless they think we might be confused as to what its purpose is lol.

Sweet! There are more dual-bladed keys out there than I thought. BiLock, DOM System D, AG, and now Lock. Learn stuff here every day. 8)

This is why I love picking. Even after like 6 or 7 years of lock tinkering I still see things everyday that make me squint suspiciously about the possible mastery of the field.

I would love to watch one of those keys being cut.

The only way I can think of, given the shape of the cuts, is a clipper mechanism working on the Curtis clipper principle, with one part sitting in the gap between the blades and the moving part being carefully designed to come to a halt before hitting the other blade which needs to be well supported. Enough claims can probably be thought of to obtain a decent utility patent for it.

As far as I know the Bi-lock blank comes L shaped, is clipped with the appropriate cuts then folded into the U shape with a specially designed press - so one would need when licenced to buy the appropriate clipper and press from Australian Lock . This procedure would not seem practicable for the key shown.

Hi Nick,

Great sleuthing work with a nice finding.
Too bad the brand name is 'Lock' as it sure doesn't help with google searches.

Kind regards,
Sean

Have a "Lock" brand lock, too. But no cool keyway. Just a standard euro-profile lock.

Not sure if you worked any of this out already, a google image search of your photo of the key found a foreign language site with the information below translated by google. It could be possible that the "LOCK" name on the key was used because the Chinese manufacturer did not wish to brand their product replica, -Nick

The pictures are all from fred the fool, thank you!

Information:

The build quality is not very accurate. This is evident, for example, at the core pins having a chamfer and have some play in the core hole. This can easily be seen in the manipulation. In addition, the core has only 9 holes, but the housing 10. It was only fitted the pin length of 5.0mm in the housing, in essence, it is then 5.0 to 5.5 - 6,0 - 6,5 mm pin length to match the key of course , The pin diameter is not measured. There have been installed only full-pins.
