What lock is this?

Postby Pietrach » 3 Apr 2015 17:07

Hi
I just got a upvc door installed and it has a euro cylinder lock installed. I can't get reach the door seller as he is on holidays, but I want to know how safe this lock is. The cylinder has a symbol that looks like capital letter A inside a circle, or could be a compass inside a circle. No BS Kite mark.
Do you know this brand, and could provide any information on it quality / safety.
For comparison my old door has ABS lockmwith a high security hoppe handle.

Thanks
Pietrach

Really? 70 views from people who know all about locks and no one can identify the brand of this lock? I am starting to worry. I think I better replace it.

yeah, it must be total rubbish that we can't even identify.. you see, we like nice locks, so crap made at some sweat shop in China doesnt usually catch our eye.

I know over 175 lock companies and their logos from many different countries (was making a visual guide to identifying locks in the wild) and that's not a logo I'm familiar with.

Sometimes a door, door hardware, or glass company will have their logo on a lock, so you have to think outside the box of lock companies and think, maybe the door company or glazier branded a generic cylinder with their logo. PPG Glass does this in the USA, sometimes you'll find a PPG stamp on a mortise cylinder.

here's a PPG being picked https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6u0wMtWLuvI
