Got an Abus 83/45 for free (no key)

A guy gave me an Abus 83/45 yesterday with no key, It had a Schlage keyway (never saw one before, but probably very common) I picked it at home and rekeyed it and made a key for it.

The lock with a blank key in it waiting to be taken apart...


The lock with the pins I chose, 2 spools, 1 Assa Christmas tree pin, 2 home made serrated and 1 home made something in the 6th possition...

After I keyed this up I wanted to see how it was to pick it.... DANG is this a beast! with the light springs and great manufacturing it is either nothing binding or almost all binding Then the serrated kick in, if you get it past that a spool will get you and then the Christmas tree pin jumps up and says hello LOL

I havent got it picked yet, just a quick try because I didnt want to mess it up if I was going to sell it later.

Still working on the American 200 US lock that I picked up for $3.00 with no key....

Depends on the store but most probably will sell them.

For some reason Walmart wouldn't sell me blanks but Home Depot would.

I buy blanks at ACE all the time along with true value hardware... but if I cant find a key im looking for I have a locksmith friend that will get me anything I want.

I will echo MacGnG's comment on your homemade pins. Very nice.
