american cores and sightseeing tips

Im going to usa in 2 weeks and vill land in san francisco and be there a couple of days and then in LA a couple of dayst then las vegas a couple of days the like sonnora gold district and then back to san francisco a couple of days .
Now to my big cuestion is does all american padlock come whit the new 5 pin core or is there any model that has the old style cores left and do the big box stores sell them
and lastly is there like some relly good like surplus store or sny good store and stuff worth seing there

Not sure about sightseeing or surplus stores out there. As for locks, most consumer American Lock padlocks come with their cores pinned with 5 pins but they have 6 chambers. Most of the big box stores don't stock much of their products but a good local locksmith might carry them and/or be able to re-key one to populate all 6 chambers.

There are many American locks that come with 6 pin cores, in fact nearly all of them have that option.... Its just a case of finding them.

If you look on American Lock's Website, you will see 2 different columns against each lock. One is the model number for the APTC14 (6 pin core) and the second one for the APTC12 ( 5 pin core).

Then its just a case of finding the correct model number in a store or at a locksmiths.
