code for BEST lock

Postby UnlockingBoredom » 12 Jul 2016 12:07

Hello people, I have a BEST lock that I have been working on for over a year and cannot pick, zip, impression shim or otherwise open this lock. I have other BEST locks that are no problem opening. Maybe there is something broken inside this lock? Anyway it has a code on the outside P45, can anyone with a code book please PM me with the key pinouts for this? Its my last effort before taking it to the range and putting a few 12 gauge slugs into it

Mods, if this is not the area for this question please move or delete if it is of advanced nature

Thanks...

that code will be for the specific system that this lock came out of, it wont be a bitting code in a code book or codesource software, etc, afaik.

I've had Best locks where the control sleeve is stuck, some lube might help. I didn't see anything that would match your code, Squelchtone is right, that code is probably meaningful only to the specific system that that lock is a member of. I suspect you've tried all the easy lock loosening techniques though.

Yup, tried everything I could think of, even made a tension wrench for the control sleeve to see if I could pick it that way. Used all sorts of lubes, ran a blank key through a few thousand times to loosen everything up as well as a pick.

Oh well, this one is a lost cause
Thanks for the knowledge

As the others have said, that would be a blind code for referencing that particular core in a given system. There are fellow collectors who maintain lists of codes from the locks they have in their collections/have worked on over the years but nothing you would find in code software.
