Postby Matt1346 » 9 Feb 2017 3:51

hello lp101, im new here and apologize in advance for this post because im sure its in the wrong place. i have some falcon mortise cylinders i found for a steal that are riveted in the back and i cannot for the life of me figure out how to disassemble them to re-key(ive already tried prying the tail piece off.. doesnt work, just exposes the back of the keyway). i have included a picture of my cylinders. thanks in advance!

I think that is something like wax covering the screw heads. You should be able to use a screwdriver tip to remove it. I could be wrong but I had some cylinders that looked the same as these.

they are brass rivets, i pried the tail piece off of one to see if there was a screw behind it or something. there are no screws :(

You will need to pick them to control.

What you see are the back of the drive pins for the cam. These are SFIC cylinders and to work on them you first retract the control lug either by picking or using the control key. Then you will be able to work on the lock cylinder.
