Keyways App

Wasn't a category for keys, placed in locks?. Someone else is asking about Sargent Keyways in another post, Got me to thinking again about an APP to show what Keys will fit into each Keyway. Images would overlay, and show other Keys that would fit in a particular keyway, and if not show in red, what material needed to be removed. Maybe even be able to place a tape measure or a reference for scale, photograph a keyway to determine lock manufacturer, Blank needed for key. This last thing would be tough to clearly show keyway profile. May have to put clay or something easily removed to show a clear keyway. Just a thought. Anyone else have a similar thought?

Started a thread a while back for BEST keyway identification and pics of said keyways. Also showed modifications to a Kwikset blank to fit a Lockwood V7 keyway.

Your idea sounds interesting, but would require a great deal of work. You up to it?

Gordon
Just when you finally think you have learned it all, that is when you learn that you don't know anything yet.

No, It would take a LOT Of work, Not sure how accurate Ilco or other books are, Likely need more Accurate Scans of each. Plus there is not a lot of need that I see? Good Project for someone, Not me.
